Al-Ameen College, Mission & Vision.
Al Ameen is an aided college located at Edathala in Kochi city. Founded in 1981, the college's vision is to create an educated and enlightened society. Furthermore, it places a strong thrust on secularism, culture, tradition, and character formation for the betterment of society. The college offers different courses in arts, commerce, and science. Al- Ameen College's mission is to provide the best possible academic platform by offering ICT-enabled comprehensive teaching-learning techniques. In order to transform our youth into globally competent, ethically sound, and socially committed individuals.Al- Ameen educational trust manages the college currently.
Founder of the college, Dr. Mumtaz Ahamed Khan's vision strove him towards the betterment of underprivileged sections of society. The trust established in 1979 currently owns four higher secondary schools and five primary schools apart from the arts and science college. Al- Ameen college had a modest beginning as a junior college with pre-degree batches in November 1981. Gradually the institution was affiliated with Kerala University. Later the affiliation was shifted to Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. Subsequently, the college was upgraded to degree level and added aided courses in the mean course. The government of India declared the college a minority educational system in 2008.
A major milestone in the history of the college was achieved by acquiring NAAC accreditation in the year 2015. The prestigious B.Voc course in sound engineering started in 2018. Furthermore, the IGNOU study center started the same year itself. On completion of the fourth decade since its inception, the college has twelve undergraduate programmes, and three post-graduate courses including a vocational course to its credit. The college community comprises 1368 students, 81 teachers, and 35 non-teaching staff. About 57% of the students are girls.
The college has come a long way in accomplishing many significant segments of its goals set up. It aims at further serving society and nurturing future prospects to thrive in the world of competition.
